Tour Details
Your day tour begins with your hotel pickup in the morning, and heading south to stunning Tarangire National Park. Arrive at the Tarangire National Park for game viewing. In the afternoon you will stop for a picnic lunch. Your afternoon game-drive will reveal all the wonders of Tarangire, a National Park often referred to as the ‘Elephant Playground’. Herds of up to 300 of these mighty mammals are sometimes seen in the park.

Serengeti may be better known, but Tarangire in the dry season easily rivals it for animal densities. As well as the herds of elephant Tarangire is home to buffalo, lion, wildebeest, zebra and gazelle while gerenuk and fringe-eared Oryx are ‘local specialties’. Lake Burungi’s marshy shores are the lure for these mammals and the waters attract many beautiful bird species, too.

Look out for giant kingfishers, hoopoes and the delightfully-named white-bellied go-away bird. Tarangire is noted for its splendid baobab trees, rolling savannah and acacia woodland. At the end of an inspiring afternoon amongst the wildlife, drive back to your hotel in Arusha

Itinerary

Day 1Arusha / Tarangire National Park

We will pick you from hotel in Arusha and depart heading to Tarangire National Park with Picnic Lunch. Later after 2-3 hour drive, you will arrive at the Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National park was once set as a hunting ground immediately after formation of National parks, during 1970. Such a good place to support eco-system, today instead of hunting we can view wildlife from this park living peacefully. The Park has the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania and you can view these animals all year round in which the herds often can reach a number of up to 300 animals. The Tarangire River has water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, many animals from the surrounding areas come to the river Tarangire for drinking. If you are lucky to visit the park during the dry season, you will experience an memorable natural wonder as you can observe a lot of wildlife species such as; Lions, Giraffes, Buffaloes, Wildebeests, Zebras as well as various types of Antelopes and Gazelles and if lucky enough you can also spot a python. During the dry season this park also is a sanctuary for bird lovers and photographers, over 550 different species of birds not to forget the world largest bird- Maasai Ostrich. Afternoon is dedicated to more game drive. Evening hours you will be taken back to the hotel in Arusha.
