Tour Details

This is one of our most popular tours that allow you to spend a reasonable amount of time in the endless plain of Serengeti (2 nights). The spectacular great wildebeest migration takes place here throughout the year. Also, you’ll explore Ngorongoro with successful conservation, in which wildlife and people (Maasai) share the same resources without harming each other. Visit Lake Manyara with numerous colonies of pink flamingos covering its shores. And the tree-climbing lions of Tarangire NP.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arusha – Serengeti National Park

After morning breakfast at the hotel, depart for Serengeti National Park via the Ndutu area where you will probably see the great wildebeest migration. It is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. Also, a World Heritage Site and recently proclaimed a 7th Worldwide Wonder. The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration. Six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebras and 300,000 Thomson gazelles join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing.

We’ll pass through the high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, then descend towards the endless plains of Serengeti. We’ll drive towards Central Serengeti (Seronera) area, which features the Seronera River, a valuable source of water in the Central Serengeti. Large numbers of wildlife species are attracted by the river making it one of the areas rich in wildlife habitats. Enjoy an evening game drive.

Later in the evening, drive to the Serengeti Katikati Tented Camp for dinner and overnight rest.

Day 2: Serengeti National Park

This day will be organized according to your wishes, as we are completely flexible to your preferences. Each day of the safari, your guide will discuss with you the best timings for game drives and wake-up time. For example, today, you could do a morning game drive, return to the camp for lunch and relaxation and finish with an afternoon game drive. Alternatively, you could do a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch then later in the evening go back to the lodge for an evening campfire, shower, dinner and overnight.

Serengeti is the habitat with an abundance of wildlife but is well-known for its great migrating herds of thousand zebras and one and a half million wildebeest. All are driven by the same ancient rhythm, fulfilling its instinctive role in the inescapable cycle of life. Apart from migration, you may see predators such as leopard, cheetah, and lion plying their rough trade.

In the evening, go to Lobo Wildlife Lodge for an evening campfire, shower, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA)

Early morning game drives always have something to offer. Today, we suggest a very early wake-up call-in order to do an early morning game drive (when the animals are more active). You’ll see one of the best sunrises you’ll ever witness. After the game drive, we return to the camp for a rewarding brunch and then proceed to Ngorongoro, the breathtaking 8th Wonder of the Natural World.
The jewel in Ngorongoro’s crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. It’s about 20 km across, 600 m deep and 300 sq km in area. It’s one of the very rare locations in the whole continent where you can witness the black rhino.

We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually be seen here.

Late in the evening, we’ll drive to Rhino Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Masai Village Tour

After breakfast, we’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive with lunch boxes.

Today, we descend over 600 m into the Ngorongoro Crater. Ngorongoro Crater supports a gigantic diversity of animals due to all year-round water and food supply. These comprise herds of wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, hippos, African elephants, eland and warthogs. The Park is unique due to the intense population of predators such as; lions, jackals, cheetahs, hyenas and the mysterious rarely spotted leopard.

Our day will be complete with a Maasai village exploration along Lake Manyara. This amazing excursion in the Masai village includes a leisure walk across the rolling hills of the plateau, spending time with villagers. You’ll also find out about their lifestyle and join their ebullient Maasai cultural singing, jumping and dancing. Also, have time to learn about the Maasai tradition.

Late in the evening, drive to Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge/ Masai village cottages (Accommodations according to the wishes of clients) for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha

Today we’ll depart for a full-day game drive at Lake Manyara National Park with a picnic lunch. In the evening, we’ll drive to Arusha and drop you off at your hotel (booked by your own arrangements) or transferred the airport.

Lake Manyara National Park is one of Tanzania’s most considerably situated wildlife areas. The Park is located at the foot of the Great Rift Valley western escarpments. The Park offers a variety of habitats, that is; underground water forest, baobab strewn cliffs, acacia woodlands, water forests, algae-streaked hot springs and swamps. There is also the soda ash Lake Manyara itself, rich in flamingos. Despite the lake being small in size, it does supports large numbers of animal species and absurd bird’s life. The lions present in this park are well known for their tree climbing character and compared to other parks in the world, Lake Manyara has huge troops of baboons.
